➼ Selection Procedure for SSC GD

  1. SSC GD exam – All candidates whose online applications are accepted are called to appear in the CBE. The test carries 100 objective-type questions of 100 marks. The question paper is divided into four parts – General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and English/Hindi. The difficulty level of questions are of matriculation level.
  2. SSC GD PET/PST – Based on the performance of CBE, candidates are shortlisted for PET and PST. The tests are conducted at various centres finalised by the CAPFs.
  3. SSC GD medical exam – Candidates qualifying the PET/PST exam then finally need to appear for DME and RME (if applicable), conducted by CAPFs.
  4. Final SSC GD result – Final SSC GD result along with force allocation is released by Staff Selection Commission on its official website. The final result released by the commission is based on the performance of candidates in CBE. PET, PST, DME, RME are only qualifying in nature.

➼ Eligibility

➼ Age limit

The candidates who seek to appear for the SSC GD exam should be greater than 18 years old and younger than 23 years old.

➼ Nationality

Candidate must be a citizen of India. For migrated candidates, they must submit domicile/ PRC against his/ her state/ UT.

➼ Education Qualification

Candidates must contain the necessary educational qualification i.e, Matriculation or 10th class pass from a recognized Board/ University before applying for the GD post.

➼ Age relaxation

There is an age relaxation in the upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of persons based on the Government’s orders.

➼ How to apply?

It is suggested for candidates to read the instructions carefully before proceeding with the SSC GD online one time ‘Registration Form’/ Application Form

  1. Go to the SSC official website (ssc.nic.in)
  2. ‘Click here to apply’ link provided there >> Click Apply >> Click GD-Constable.
  3. Provide all the necessary details and fill the SSC GD Online Application Form.
  4. Registration ID and password will be sent, once the SSC GD Online Form is submitted.
  5. Candidates should mandatorily note down the Registration ID and password for future uses. This would be the permanent Registration ID and Password which is required to apply for this exam as well as any other recruitment examination of the Commission.

After submission of the Registration Form, an applicant is required to follow the below guidelines:

  • Upload his/ her latest colour photograph and signature as part of the recruitment process.
  • The signature and photograph should be uploaded in JPG format.
  • The digital size of the photo should be more than 4 KB and less than 20 KB.
  • The digital size of the signature should be more than 1 KB and less than 12 KB.

In case of any discrepancy in ‘One-time registration’ data that has been filled by a candidate, the Commission allows editing/ modifying the information furnished such as:

  1. Candidate’s Name
  2. Father’s/ Mother’s Name
  3. Date of Birth
  4. Gender
  5. Matriculation details like Roll Number, Enrollment Number, etc.
  1. Go to the official website (https://ssc.nic.in)
  2. Click on the ‘Admit card’ tab on the homepage for SSC GD Admit Card.
  3. Select your region (e.g. Eastern, Northern region, etc.)
  4. The download link will appear of SSC GD Constable admit card.
  5. Click on the link and enter the necessary details like, Roll Number and Date Of Birth/ username and Password.
  6. The SSC GD PET/PST exam admit card will open in a new tab.
  7. Download the SSC GD admit card and take a printout of it, which needs to be carried to the examination centre on the exam date.
