IBPS RRB EXAM

IBPS RRB 2021: It is one of the bank exams conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). It is conducted for recruitment in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) or rural banks. IBPS conducts RRB exam annually for the recruitment of officers and office assistants (multipurpose) in various regional rural banks.

The mode of conduction of this exam is online. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is fully responsible for conducting the IBPS RRB 2021 examination. The examination for the post of Officer Scale-I and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) will be two-tier i.e. online examination will be in two phases, preliminary and main examinations.

According to studies, from some past years banking exams are becoming more & more demanding. As a result, the level of competition for bank exams has increased rapidly.

IBPS RRB 2021 Salary structure

GROUP A:

  1. SCALE – I

SCALE – I

  • The post held by Officer Scale-I is a Manager Trainee post in RRBs or Gramin Bank.
  • When two years’ of probation period get successfully completed, the PO captures the rank of Assistant Manager.
  • The salary of the newly appointed Officer scale-I around Rs. 29,000.

SCALE – II

  • The post captured by Officer Scale-II is a manager level post.
  • The candidate comes from high-end specialist recruitment to RRB can take this position, as it demands experience and professional aptitudes.
  • After completing two years of the successful probation period, officer scale – II holds a position which pays around Rs.39300 approx.

SCALE – III

  • The post which Officer Scale III holds is a senior manager level post.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience needed in the banking sector or relevant industry experience, to capture this post.
  • Officer Scale – III gets a handsome pay around Rs.50,000 or above.

The in-hand salary for an Officer differs in IBPS RRB officer based on his scale varies from Rs30,000 to Rs. 47,000. The salary for an Officer Assistant is approximate Rs.15,000.

Interview

After the qualification of the Mains Examination, candidates will be finally called for the Interview Process by IBPS RRB. Candidates shortlisted in the written examination subsequently called up for the interview process.

It is really important for candidates to fare well in the Interview Process as the final selection of a candidate is based on how he/she fares in this final round of the IBPS SO Recruitment Process, which has to be conducted by the Participating Organisations.

Marks weightage of an interview is 100 marks. Minimum Qualify marks: for General: Above 40% and for SC/ST/PH/OBC/PWD: Above 35%

IBPS Department will create scorecard based on candidate’s performance in the written exam and interview with a ratio of 80:20 (Written & Interview) Candidate passed in both the exams will be shortlisted for provisional Allotment Process.

  1. Go to the official website of IBPS [www.ibps.in]
  2. Go to the CWE RRBs
  3. Click on the link ”Common Written ExaminationRegional Rural Banks
  4. Click on the admit card link in the post.
  5. Enter the necessary details such as registration number and password/ date of birth.
  6. Submit those details to download IBPS RRB admit card. 
  7. Download the admit card and take a printout of the same for future reference.

Below mentioned is the registration process for IBPS RRB

  1. Candidates can apply online only from a given date.
  2. Applicants should through the official website of IBPS www.ibps.in
  3. Click on the link “CWE – RRBs”.
  4. Click on Common Recruitment Process – Regional Rural Bank
  5. Submit all the necessary details of the application form.

Note:-

  • After the completion of the application procedure, applicants must take a printout of the application form.
  • Please note that all the details mentioned in the online application including Name of the Candidate, Category, Date of Birth, Post Applied for, Address, Mobile Number, Email ID, Center of Examination, registration of preferences for Participating Organisations etc. Will be considered as final after the last date.
  • No change/modifications will be allowed after submission of the IBPS RRB Recruitment application form.

IBPS RRB Eligibility criteria 2021

Age Limit

  1. For Officer Scale-I (Senior Manager): Above 18 years – Below 30 years, i.e., Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1988 and later than 31.05.2000 (both dates inclusive)
  2. For Officer Scale-II (Manager): Above 21 years – Below 32 years.
  3. For Officer Scale-III (Assistant Manager): Above 21 years – Below 40 years.
  4. For Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Between 18 years – 28 years.

Age Relaxation:-

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PWD: 10 years
  • Ex-serviceman officer (including ECOs/SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the next one year from the last date for receipt of application) other than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalided, subject to the ceiling as per Government guidelines – 5 Years.
  • Persons usually domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State Jammu & Kashmir during the period 1-1-80 to 31-12-89 – 5 years.
  • Person affected by 1984 Riots – 5 years
  • Widows, Divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried (only for the post of Office Assistants): 9 years
  • Ex-Servicemen/ Disabled Ex-Servicemen (for the post of Office Assistants) actual period of service rendered in the defence forces + 3 years (8 years for Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST) subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years

Nationality

Candidate must be either:

(i) A Citizen of India

(ii) A subject of Nepal

(iii) A subject of Bhutan

(iv) A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India

(v) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certification of eligibility has been circulated by the Government of India.

Education Qualification

For Officer Scale I: Candidates must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent and must have proficiency in local language and Computer knowledge or awareness will be an added qualification. Preference will be given to the candidates having a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.

For Officer Scale-II:(General Banking Officer): Candidates must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having a degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics, and Accountancy.  Experience: Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

For Officer Scale-II (Specialist Officer):

  • (i) Information Technology Officer: Degree from a recognized University in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc. Experience: One year.
  • (ii) Chartered Accountant: Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Experience: One year.
  • (iii) Law Officer: Degree from a recognized University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Experience: Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period not less than two years.
  • (iv) Treasury Manager: Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution. Experience: One year.
  • (v) Marketing Officer: MBA in Marketing from a recognized university. Experience: One year.

For Officer Scale-III: Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree/ Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics, and Accountancy. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions. Note: All educational qualifications should be from a recognized university/ Board.

Language Proficiency – The candidates applying for the posts of Officer Scale I and Office Assistants –(Multipurpose) in any particular RRB or RRBs are required to possess proficiency in the local language of the State / UT in which the RRB is situated to be eligible for interview, as per the notification of the concerned RRB (The condition does not apply for the posts of Officer Scale-II and III).
