IBPS SO 2021: This Examination is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) annually for the recruit of the Specialist Officers, for different positions in the Public sector banks in India.

IBPS SO Notification 2021 is released very soon by the Institute of Personnel Banking Selection (IBPS). According to the previous year calendar the notification of IBPS SO 2020 is released in the month  of November (Due to COVID 19 Pandemic). So, it is quite clear that the notification for the year 2021 will released accordingly.

BPS SO Exam Pattern:

Now, the IBPS SO examination pattern has changed.

This examination will now conduct in the following three phases:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Mains Exam
  3. Interview Process.

Important Notes:-

  • IBPS has introduced separate sectional timing for each section in the Prelims Exam.
  • Time duration allotted for IBPS SO preliminary examination is 120 minutes and 40 minutes for each section.
  • To appear in the Mains Exam candidates need to clear its’s Preliminary exam first.
  • The score of Preliminary Exam will not be considered for the final allotment.
  • Mains Exam and Interview Process will be considered for final selection.
  • The Mains Examination will contain questions only from Professional Knowledge Subjects.

This examination is the second stage of the selection procedure. Only those Candidates who had cleared the preliminary examination ae allowed to appear in this examination.

IBPS SO Interview:

After the qualification of the Mains Examination, candidates will be finally called for the Interview Process by IBPS SO.

It is really important for candidates to fare well in the Interview Process as the final selection of a candidate is based on how he/she fares in this final round of the IBPS SO Recruitment Process.

IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria:

The Eligibility criteria for IBPS SO is set by the department of Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). After fulfilling the given criteria the candidate should apply for the exam.

Age limit:

IBPS Specialist Officer examination held under certain age eligibility criteria, which are mentioned below.

The IBPS SO Age Limit is as follows:

  • Minimum Age- 20years
  • Maximum Age- 30 years

There is a certain upper age limit relaxation for various categories. The IBPS SO age limit relaxation is given below:


A candidate must be either:

  1. A Citizen of India or
  2. A subject of Nepal or
  3. A subject of Bhutan or
  4. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India,
  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

IBPS SO Admit Card:

The given steps shows How you can download your Admit Card for IBPS SO.

  1. Visit the Official Site of IBPS https://ibps.in/
  2. Click on the download link of IBPS SO admit card. 
  3. Enter your roll number/registration number and password/date of birth on the respective fields.
  4. You are redirected to the admit card page.
  5. Download the IBPS SO admit card and take a print-out of it. Carry it along to the exam centre.

How to apply for IBPS SO?

Here is the step by step guide for IBPS SO Apply Online:

  1. Go to the official website of IBPS (www.ibps.in)
  2. Click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” to start the registration process.
  3. Enter the basic details required in the Online Application Form.
  4. Note your Provisional Registration number sent to the registered mobile number and email-id.
  5. Through Registration number and password re-login to website.
  6. Upload your scanned documents such as photograph, signature, Left Thumb Impression, Hand-written declaration.
  7. After filling all the details, review the IBPS SO Online application form properly and click on “ SAVE & NEXT”.
  8. Complete the payment by using Debit Cards (RuPay/ Visa/ Master Card/ Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets and provide information as asked on the screen.
  9. After Final Submit, an additional page of the application form is displayed wherein candidates may follow the instructions and fill in the requisite details.
  10. On successful completion of the IBPS SO Online registration, an e-receipt will be generated.
  11. Candidates need to take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form containing fee details.
