Apart from aspirants across the country, the currently serving employees can also apply for the post of Assistant Commandant in SSB through the LDC exam. The exam is conducted for internal recruitment in the organization.
CAPF released the notification for the LDC exam in the year 2017, but the exam is scheduled in the year 2019-20.

- Candidate must be less than 35 years in age. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
- The candidate must be a graduate from any Government recognised University.
- Only three attempts per candidate are allowed.

As mentioned by UPSC one must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria of SSB, to apply for SSB.
- Age Limit: Candidate must be between 20 years and 25 years of age. There is an age relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates and age relaxation of up to 3 years for OBC candidates.
- Educational Qualifications: Candidate must be a graduate from any Government University or Deemed to be University.
