The SSC JE Exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for each branch. The commission has previously announced SSC JE recruitment details. The posts recruited are non-announcement positions in Group B of Junior Engineer (JE). The selection process for SSC JE consists of two stages, this information also available in the exam pattern. the first stage (paper I) being an objective examination and the second stage (paper II) being a written examination. SSC JE Eligibility criteria for age limits depend on the corresponding post. Candidates interested in taking the SSC Junior Engineer 2020 exam should be at least 18 years old and not greater than 32 years old. The SSC JE age limit will be calculated as of January 1, 2020.

SSC JE Eligibility: Educational Qualification

Eligible candidates should hold a minimum SSC JE qualification (education) related to the position in which they are positioned. In fact, each candidate should pass at least an admission/intake certificate or an equivalent degree from the Board of Directors.

SSC JE Eligibility: Nationality/Citizenship

The SC JE eligibility criteria are based on nationality and authorize only candidates to be residents of designated states. Candidates belonging to these states will be eligible to apply for SSC JE.

SSC JE exam eligibility is based on nationality as follows.

An applicant must fulfill any one of the following conditions:

  • Indian citizens.
  • Citizens of Nepal.
  • Bhutanese citizens.
  • Tibetan refugees who settled in India before 1 January 1962.
  • Indian origin, moved to Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam intend to remain permanently in India.

SSC JE Eligibility: Permissible Age Relaxation

Candidates in the reserved category have some relaxations in the upper age limit, as follows:

SSC JE Salary details 2021

After the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, the Salary of SSC JE 2021 has been increased.

Now the SSC JE 2021 pay scale is decided only on the basic pay including DA, TA, DA on TA, and HRA.

The basic salary of a Junior Engineer starts at Rs.35,400 per month including (DA, TA, HRA, DA on TA), and can reach up to Rs.1,12400.

The Gross Salary is the sum of DA, TA, HRA, and DA on TA:

  • DA: Dearness Allowance
  • TA: Travel Allowance
  • HRA: House Rent Allowance
  • DA on TA: Travelling Allowance and Dearness Allowance

Gross Salary = (DA+TA+HRA+DA on TA)
